Meet Christyna – Eating Disorder Dietitian

Hey Friend! I’m Christyna. I work as an eating disorder and body image dietitian. I was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri. I’ve eaten my way through the menu at Ted Drewes and have a deep appreciation for toasted raviolis (t-ravs). I completed my bachelor’s degree in nutrition from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville (wooooooo pig sooie!). From there I completed my master’s degree in nutrition at Texas Woman’s University. Shortly after completing my master’s degree, I began my dietetic internship through Oklahoma State University.

During my internship, I had the opportunity to rotate at an eating disorder treatment center. I knew pretty quickly where I wanted to take my career. Since completing my internship, I have moved back to Dallas, Texas where I offer in-person and virtual nutrition counseling. I work with individuals to improve their relationship with food and body image. I enjoy helping teens build a solid foundation with nutrition and body image before their transition into adulthood.

I have experience working as an eating disorder dietitian in residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care, in addition to working outpatient. With this experience, I have worked at different styles of treatment centers and observed different treatment approaches. I took these times to hone in on what worked and why, and have translated it to folks who have often felt unseen and unheard in the eating disorder community.

Wanting to expand, I have recently started seeing folks virtually across the state of North Carolina. I have built a vast toolkit to help individuals foster new beliefs and patterns that make food fun again and improve body image. I’m passionate about making eating disorder care accessible for all people.

When I’m not working as a dietitian, I love to spend summers in the garden, time hiking, and reading whatever I can get my hands on. I spend hours getting lost in music, and am frequently found quoting song lyrics in session as motivation.
